TESTIMONIALS
JD Cole (1996-2008)
First, let me say that I am blessed. I have a great God, a great wife and family, a great life and a great job with Senior Life Services.
I am fortunate that Senior Life Services hired me in 1996, my life hasn’t been the same since. Every dream that I’ve had in life has been fulfilled. From day one I have known that I was working with honest men. I’ve never been lied to and have always received all monies due to me.
Paul McDonald hired me in April 1996. He said, “We furnish the leads.” My mouth opened wide, it’s still that way. I had been a debit man. Debit men had to find their own leads daily. I saw a real opportunity, although I did not completely understand it until late 1997. It got better and better, all that Paul and Rory Dougherty mentioned in 1996 was happening. Every year since has been better than the year before. All I had hoped for in my future in 1996 is now reality.
Thanks to Senior Life Services, my wife and I have paid our house off that was mortgaged in 1993 for 30 years. We paid it off in 2006. We also paid off all of our outstanding debts, cars loans, etc. We live the good life, so to speak. It’s all because of the good Lord and Senior Life Services.
Today I am semi-retired. I work occasionally to help train agents. All I had to do was work hard and put my faith in the Lord above and two men I believed in to achieve the rewards that have come to me. If anyone is willing to give something of themselves to an honest company and be honest in all they do they can reach the same goal. In my working life Senior Life Services is the best thing that has ever happened to me.
Sincerely and Truthfully, JD Cole

Sarah Eglin (1978-1995)
My late husband, Bob, joined Rory Dougherty and Florida Insurance Services in 1978 and worked there until he retired in early November 1995 at age 72. Bob certainly enjoyed his 17 years with the agency where he consistently earned a very good income.
Unfortunately he suffered a heart attack in late November 1995 and passed away in March 1996.
I have appreciated the fact that Mr. Dougherty has been true to his word, promptly sending me a check for my late husband’s vested renewal commissions each month from 1996 until now.
These monthly renewal checks have been a real blessing to me, as an elderly widow living on a fixed income.
I’m glad that Bob joined Florida Insurance Services, an ethical agency run by Rory Dougherty, an honest man.

Merritt Bradt (1995-2003)
I joined Florida Insurance Services, Inc. / Senior Life Services in 1995 at age 56. I retired to South Carolina 8 years later in 2003 at age 64.
I formerly spent many years in the real estate business and was intrigued with the idea of receiving vested renewal commissions after leaving the insurance business. When working I didn’t realize how important my renewals would become to me in my retirement years.
I have received a renewal check like clockwork each month from the agency, so far amounting to approximately $150,000, and can expect this to continue well into the future.
The renewals have supplemented my income in retirement allowing me to golf and enjoy a very comfortable lifestyle with my wife in Myrtle Beach.
I would encourage anyone to consider an insurance career with Senior Life Services, an honest, ethical, long established, well managed agency.
Sincerely, Merritt Bradt
Alexander Robertson (1988-2008)
I met Rory Dougherty and joined Florida Insurance Services, Inc., more than 19 years ago in November 1988. I had previously been a successful tennis pro but couldn’t continue doing that due to chronic back problems.
November 15, 1988 turned out to be the luckiest day of my life as I have had a very successful, highly rewarding career with Florida Insurance Services, Inc. / Senior Life Services. The financial rewards have been great but also the deep sense of accomplishment and personal fulfillment.
I achieved my first year income goal of $50,000, not bad for a greenhorn in the insurance business. I continued to work hard and aim high. I hit my second and third year goals of $100,000 and $170,000 earnings in fact I was the agency’s top personal producer for 10 years in a row. Rory made me a sales manager and trainer, which added to my income along with my fast growing renewals. I received many sales awards plus was able to take my wife to terrific conventions in many exotic locations.
Unfortunately my chronic back problem became progressively worse until I became totally disabled in 2001. Thank God I had built up substantial renewals, which were vested to me. I have received more than $500,000 in monthly checks from the agency since the end of 2001, a blessing for my wife and I.
I estimate that I have received close to $3,000,000 in first year and renewal commissions from the agency since that lucky day in 1988.
I still enjoy a great relationship with Rory Dougherty and his right hand man, Paul McDonald; you couldn’t find two finer gentlemen to work with. They are knowledgeable, caring, honest and ethical. I can certainly say that Florida Insurance Services, Inc. / Senior Life Services is a great place to work.

KAREN REAMS-HAEGER (1985-2001)
In January 1985, I walked into the office of Florida Insurance Services and asked to speak to someone about becoming an agent. Rory Dougherty, the agency owner, interviewed me and gave me the chance to join them.
I was a single mother with a son in college and needed to make more than the minimum wage I was earning. I needed a new career, a chance to make good money, a way to build my future social security check in retirement and also fund a personal pension plan. I was able to achieve all those goals with Rory and Florida Insurance Services.
I worked very hard with the agency for 17 years. It was a great career. I never missed time from work. I just kept plugging away. My annual income rose steadily, as my renewal commissions grew, until I reached six figures and then much more than that.
I also qualified to go on many wonderful trips to Bermuda, San Francisco, Scottsdale, Lake Tahoe, the Bahamas and more. I have wonderful memories from those trips. They were the best times of my life.
Since I retired in 2001 I have received my vested renewal commissions from the agency like clockwork each month, which have already amounted to almost $500,000.
I can only thank Rory Dougherty for hiring me and for all the training and encouragement he and Paul McDonald gave me over the years. If it weren’t for them I wouldn’t have had the best career and would not be happily and comfortably retired today.
Thanks again to Rory, Paul, Teresa, Tonya and all the staff at Florida Insurance Services / Senior Life Services.
Sincerly, Karen Reams-Haeger
Rob Stanley (1988-Present)
I decided to leave the restaurant business in 1988 to pursue a career in sales. I answered several ads, attended interviews and was offered two in-home sales positions both of which sounded great. One was in meat sales and the other in insurance sales with Florida Insurance Services, Inc. I was “on the fence” but fortunately my wife, Ellie, made her feelings clear “Do you want me to tell my friends that you are peddling meat products. I’d much rather say that you have got into the insurance profession.” That was that!
I was a complete novice but Rory Dougherty and his competent staff trained and supported me well so that I became a successful productive agent.
2008 marks my 20th year with Florida Insurance Services and Senior Life Services. When I joined we sold in four counties on the east coast of Florida now we operate in about 20 states. Rory and Paul McDonald are honest and ethical as well as being motivational guys to work with.
I am in my mid fifties earning a very good income, my renewal commission’s alone amount to far more than the average income in this country. Those commissions are vested and will continue well into my retirement.
My thanks to Rory and his very professional, courteous and capable home office staff. It’s a pleasure to work for Senior Life Services.
Sincerely, Rob Stanley
